Two Davis residents, David Levy of Hardwood Creations and Darlene Riel of Riel Photography, will be displaying their work in the Sacramento Arts Festival, Oct 25-27.

The founding artist of Hardwood Creations, Levy has been designing, developing and making wood products since 1977 when he was a UC Davis student studying design. Hardwood Creations creates functional and unique wood products using traditional and modern woodworking techniques. Visit www.davidlevycreations.com.

Riel worked for UCD’s School of Veterinary Medicine and photography provided her an opportunity to express her creative side and share her love of travel. She is particularly attracted to the patinas of old stone structures, cobbled streets and faded wooden buildings. Visit rielphotography.photoshelter.com/index.

Featuring over 225 contemporary craftspeople and fine artists showcasing over 15,000 original works for sale, the festival moves to a new venue this year: Building A-B at Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd. in Sacramento.

Unlike other area fairs, this festival is strictly juried with exhibitors selected for their originality and art quality. Attendees have the unique opportunity to observe and interact with artists who will share their creative passion and knowledge. Some artists will also demonstrate their talents on site. Guests can shop from ceramics, clothing, decorative fiber works, furniture, glass, gourd art, jewelry, leather, metalworks, paper, stone, woodworks, drawings, oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, sculpture, photography and two and three-dimensional mixed media.
