Monday Musings: Into the Deep Darkness: An Elemental Litany

The shortest day of the year is fast approaching, and with it comes the deep winter dreaming darkness…

Clear air, sparkling with stars against velvety blackness
Dream of a world such as this.

Clean air, unpolluted, flowing with breezes and punctuated with giant cumulus cotton-candy clouds
Dream of a world such as this.

Blessed air, unburdened of its heavy carbon load, exhaled from trees
Dream of a world such as this.

Energy from sunshine, photons on solar panels, every rooftop basking
Dream of a world such as this.

Deep earth fire, warming from below in geothermal waves, flowing through houses
Dream of a world such as this.

Tamed heat, global catastrophe averted, earth begins to cool
Dream of a world such as this.

Tidal rhythms dance to the tempo of the moon, baby turtles catch the waves
Dream of a world such as this.

Abundant schools of silvery fish splashing in clean waters, restored and healed
Dream of a world such as this.

Ocean, mother of us all, cradles new life as whales return to sing
Dream of a world such as this.

Mountain majesty, towering stone, its foundation undisturbed
Dream of a world such as this.

Forest teeming, balanced and harmonious, dancing the seasonal circle
Dream of a world such as this.

Farms with pure soil, unpolluted, rich microscopic universe
Dream of a world such as this.

In our spirit, peace and contentment, awareness of the Sacred all around.
In our dreaming, we hold visions of what can be…
