This recipe’s 27 grams of protein might help you overlook the fact that there’s no icing. But if not, you could certainly add some toppings like a dollop of yogurt. Peppermint extract masks the flavor of avocado and spinach hiding in this cool drink. The cacao nibs don’t hurt, either. Low-fat, low-carb peanut flour acts as the PB while frozen berries act as the J in this sandwich-inspired smoothie. Try it when you want to feel like a kid again. Even better than your favorite fast-food shake, this homemade version has a fraction of the calories and carbs of a medium Frosty. A little bit of full-fat Greek yogurt goes a LONG way in fighting hunger. Just try this light blueberry and spinach sip and try to tell us otherwise. Sorry, Starbucks. Peanut Butter and Peppers has you beat with this light coffee smoothie. Add a scoop of protein powder or Greek yogurt to make this perky beverage more satiating. 5 Powder – Betaine Hydrochloride Shape may receive compensation when you click through and purchase from links contained on this website. The top 3 filters you need for superb landscape shots

Verity Milligan shares why you only need three filters in your kit bag and how to get great results with them To reduce the glare and make the rainbow pop, a polarising filter is the best option and one that Verity likes to use most of the time. Olympus E-M5 Mark II, 40-150mm, 1/60sec at f/14, ISO 200. Credit: Verity Milligan When it comes to knowing what filters to have in your kit bag we’ve identified the key three: a Neutral Density graduated (ND Grad), Neutral Density (ND), and polariser filter. Most professional landscape photographers use these filters at various times for many reasons, from trying to achieve a longer exposure time to reducing the glare from a reflective surface. Different filters have alternative functions and there are so many of them on the market that sometimes it can feel overwhelming to know which ones to buy. However if you stick with the key three you’ll get great results whatever the circumstances. Landscape and professional photographer Verity Milligan uses the key three for her landscape and architectural work. ‘I have LEE’s new 100 filter system (which is at the pricier end of the scales), but previously I’ve used both Kase and Benro filters, w...

2019 GMC Syclone First Drive: Run For Cover (Video)

The original GMC Syclone from 1991 was a 280-horsepower (remember this was 1991) all-wheel-drive compact truck that would reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in only 4.3 seconds. That is 0.1 seconds faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo of the time and a whopping 0.6 seconds faster than the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 that year. The Syclone was even quicker than another famous performance pickup, the 500-horsepower, Viper-powered Ram SRT-10 that came 13 years later. You get the idea. But the GMC Syclone was history after only 2,995 units were built and sold in 1991, although its gutsy 4.3-liter turbocharged V6 lived on under the hood of the heavier, and thus slower (by 0.9 second in the 0 to 60 sprint), GMC Typhoon. The latter was a high-performance SUV produced in 1992 and 1993 that shared its Sonoma/Jimmy bones with the Syclone. Gladly, some folks find history inspiring, and that’s how we found ourselves in St. Petersburg, Florida for the public unveiling of the 454-hp 2019 GMC Syclone, a revival tribute to the original truck that’s put together by Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) of Toms River, New Jersey. SVE is the same company that put together the 800-hp Yenko/SC Silverado...

Certainly many people trained at least part of their workouts year-round indoors, but with apps being more and more engaging (and driver interactions getting worse and worse) – people are s...

The dynamic duo behind Rixo aiming to make the brand more affordable and wearable

The founders of Rixo are on a mission to make the brand more affordable and more wearable, writes Vickie Maye. What does a brand like Rixo do next? The label’s USP is flattering handmade prints and cool cuts. Surely there’s a risk the duo behind it, Henrietta Rix and Derry born, London based, Orlagh McCloskey, might simply run out of ideas. And hot on their heels are a host of copy cat dresses, anxious to tap into the ‘Rixo Effect’. Orlagh just laughs. Inspiration, new ideas, are never a problem, even with a gruelling 24/7 work schedule. Somehow, there is still time for creativity. “I have no many ideas I can’t can’t keep up,” she laughs, adding that Rixo will never be driven by trends. There are still concepts floating in her head way back from when they created the label back in 2013. The two former ASOS buyers — they went to the same college and even then a lecturer suggested they should work together — knew women wanted more than fast fashion. Then they set to work, sending dresses to influencers by hand, banging on the doors of London’s fashion editors, visiting the best boutiques with their product. Where usually a brand, a band, an actor, will insist they weren’t an overn...

The last seven days have seen an abrupt change in the weather as cooler temperatures arrive

The last seven days have seen an abrupt change in the weather as cooler temperatures arrive at last in the Costa Cálida, with maximums falling from 29 degrees last weekend to a forecast high of just 17 this Friday, and as heavy snow falls in the mountains of northern Spain there could even be a flurry or two in the north of Murcia over the weekend! October was so warm that fruit trees in Blanca and Cieza have been mistakenly beginning their spring blossom, threatening next year’s harvests, but the arrival of a cold front has brought heavy snowfalls to the mountains of northern Spain as ski resorts prepare for the 2019/20 season. Even in Murcia it is just possible that light dustings of snow could reach the north-west of the Region over the weekend, and most Murcianos will be digging out their duvets – however, this IS the Costa Cálida, after all, and by Saturday and Sunday maximums will be back up to 20 or so on the coast! Apart from the weather, the news in Spain this week has been absolutely dominated by the general election which takes place on Sunday, the fourth in four years, and on Thursday the issue of the Mar Menor was in the campaign spotlight as the leaders of both the...

The Next Big Olympic Sport Has Arrived in the Form of Snowfeet

Somewhere in between skiing (too snooty) and figure skating (too impossible) lies Snowfeet—a new winter sport based upon the innovative, detachable snow boots after which it was named. The highly affordable, lightweight boot attachments were originally designed to create an easier, more portable (and more fun) way to move about snow than skis. Skis are long, awkward and incapable of hitting a bitchin’ backside royale through an REI parking lot. Snowfeet are perfect for narrow paths and heavily tree lined areas where the snow can get a little too tight for comfort. You can simply strap them over your everyday boots at moment’s notice and prepare to rip it up as passersby fawn over their newfound invisible-ski God. Don’t be surprised if the hot commodity catches mainstream fire as well. Should Snowfeet sneak its way into the 2022 Winter Olympics, I could very well see Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn extending their careers by, say, 20 to 30 years. Only bummer: Snowfeet is currently out of stock due to high demand. But you can stil...
